Hello WordPress/our week in VT

Phew, it sure has been a while since us StereoFers have blogged about much of anything…moving over to wordpress and getting a Brand New Blog should help some (kinda like a new pair of running shoes inspires you to actually use them–at least for a week or so…). So, please do enjoy our accounts of life on the road, doing the whole travelling-minstrel thing, and feel free to live vicariously through us if the desire ever pops up–it’s the green way go – we’ll even share some deisel fumes with ya!
We’ve been in Vermont for the last few days rocking our butts off in Burlington, Montpelier, and Montgomery Center for some truly appreciative dancing crowds! Vermont is one of the few places on the East Coast that we’ve seriously considered relocating to (shh- don’t tell our friends at home in Asheville!). It really is a beautiful, vibrant and creative area. With great cheese. And maple syrup. Mmmmmm…
We started out our VT portion of the CD release tour at SolarFest, a great eco/music festival. It’s great to talk about sustainability, zero-waste, and responsible living, but entirely different to actually make the commitment to carry it out. SolarFest definitely walked the walk with free solar-powered showers, zero-waste compost and recycle stations around the festival, free do-it-yourself workshops on timber framing and cob house building (those were the only ones I got to make it to) as well as loads of information and forms on tax credits and available grant-type funds for making the switch to renewable energy. Anyway, I was thoroughly impressed! We played a fun Saturday late afternoon set on the solar-powered main stage and I got a chance to rock out with the house band late-night on Friday.
It’s been great reconnecting with friends this last week and getting a few much-needed days off to enjoy the summer in VT…more recap later…
Off to make some pizzas, go running, and enjoy the last day off of the summer tour!
